Peter Maslen

Peter Maslen is an international businessman with a global career spanning large multinational corporations in fast-moving consumer goods and retailing. He is the CEO of Knowledge Universe Education (KUE), one of the world's largest for-profit education companies. Prior to joining KUE, Maslen served as President of Starbucks Coffee International where he led Starbucks' growth outside the United States, from its initial start-up phase, to a highly successful and well-established business in more than 30 countries. Prior to joining Starbucks, Maslen served as President of Tricon Global Restaurants (now YUM! Brands) in Europe, with responsibility for the development and growth of the Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell brands throughout Western and Central Europe and former Soviet bloc countries. Maslen began his career in the food industry with Mars Incorporated, culminating as Region Director of Asia from where he was recruited to PepsiCo.
Maslen is also Founder and Chairman of The HansonMaslen Group in Seattle. He has served on the boards of several public and private companies in the United States, Japan and other countries; is the former chair of the Global Business Advisory Board at the University of Washington Business School; and was a member of the Advisory Board of the Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University. A native of Australia, Maslen grew up in the outback, studied in Perth, and is married with three children.
